Malcolm K.H. Moss
Founding Partner
Malcolm is a Founding Partner of Beringea. Over the last 20 years he has been responsible for the growth, development and management of the private equity business of Beringea in both the UK and the USA. In addition to sitting on the boards of ProVen VCT plc, ProVen Growth & Income VCT plc and ProVen Planned Exit VCT plc, he sits on the investment committees of Beringea's four other venture capital funds and as a non-executive director on several portfolio company boards.
Prior to founding Beringea, Malcolm gained Europe-wide industrial, planning and analytical experience in healthcare, engineering and financial services with Baxter International, Uniroyal Inc. and Lloyds TSB Group.
Malcolm has a MBA from Kingston Business School and a degree in Business Studies.
Stuart Veale
Managing Partner - Beringea LLP UK
As Managing Partner, Stuart heads a team of partners and staff in the UK office and sits on the investment committees of all the firm's UK funds. Stuart has over 25 years' experience working within the venture capital industry.
He is a non-executive director for CognoLink, Coal, Chess Dynamics, Espresso and Senselogix. Prior to joining Beringea in 2002, Stuart worked at 3i plc and was a Senior Director at Lloyds Development Capital, where he headed the Thames Valley office.
Stuart holds an MBA from London Business School and a degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University.
Trevor Hope
Chief Investment Officer
As Chief Investment Officer, Trevor heads the UK investment team and sits on the investment committees for all of the firm's UK funds. He has over 15 years' investment experience and has particular expertise in digital media, software and business services.
Trevor is a non-executive director for Celebrus, Think, SPC International, SkillsMatter and MatsSoft and is chairman of InSkin Media. Past transactions with Beringea include Fjornet, ILG and Gyro.
Prior to joining Beringea in 2003, Trevor spent six years at 3i plc and worked in corporate finance for both Barclays and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Trevor has worked in both the US and the UK. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and has an MBA from Exeter University.
Karen McCormick
Partner - Investment Director
Karen's role at Beringea is making new investments and working with portfolio companies.
Her recent deals include Beringea's investments into Utility Exchange Online and Monica Vinader and the sale of Tossed. Karen represents Beringea on the boards of BlisMedia, Cross Solar, Eagle Rock Entertainment, Eagle-I Publishing and Cinergy.
Karen previously worked as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and Kurt Salmon Associates and her previous experience includes the role of Marketing Director for Swiss Army/Wenger watches.
Karen has lived and worked in the US, Europe, and Asia, and has an MBA from INSEAD and a BSBA from Boston University.
Dr. Stephane Mery
Partner - Beringea LLP UK
Stéphane has over 12 years' experience as a venture capital fund manager in the healthcare sector and focuses on making new investments and working with portfolio companies in this sector.
He is a non-executive director for Community Pharmacy, PolyTherics, Altacor and Population Genetics. Past transactions have included Plum Baby and Onyx.
Previously, he was Associate Director at SmithKline Beecham and also worked at the American consulting firm ZS Associates.
Stéphane has worked in mainland Europe, America and the UK. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a doctorate in Veterinary Science from Alfort Veterinary School, Paris.
Rob Hodgkinson
Investment Manager
Rob's role at Beringea is making new investments and working with portfolio companies. He has 5 years' experience of working within the Venture Capital industry.
Prior experience includes working for Ventursome where he completed 10 growth capital and mezzanine investments including Cool2Care, Bottletop, Green Office and the Neilston Development Trust. Previously he worked for N.M. Rothschild & Sons completing a pre-IPO valuation, the sale of Eni and various valuations and bids in the technology and energy sectors.
Robert has MBA from INSEAD and a degree in History from Cambridge University.
Mark Taylor
Partner
Mark heads up Beringea Growth Finance, which provides debt-based finance to fast growing companies. Mark has over 29 years' experience working within the finance sector of which the last 15 years have been in Venture and Growth Finance.
Mark was a pioneer of Venture and Growth Finance in Europe having been a founder partner of EVP (now Kreos) in 1998. He went on to found and manage Noble Venture Finance from 2003-10. Prior to joining Beringea in 2013 Mark was instrumental in creating Clydesdale Growth Finance.
Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has a degree from the University of Reading.
Harry Thomas
Analyst
Harry is responsible for the sourcing of new business opportunities, financial modelling and working alongside the partners on negotiating and converting new business opportunities.
Prior to working at Beringea, Harry worked as an Operations Director for TroopSave Ltd where he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and marketing new deals. His previous experience includes working in the charity, real estate and local government sectors.
Harry holds a degree in History from St Andrews University
