Beringea Announces Appointment of Three New Directors
4 November 2005 - Beringea Limited, the manager of the ProVen Venture Capital Trusts and Global Rights Private Equity Funds, today announced promotions of Jeff Cornish, Trevor Hope and Jamie Kennell to director.
Jeff Cornish has been with Beringea since 2004 and is responsible for raising funds for Beringea's VCTs. Prior to joining Beringea he worked as an employee benefit consultant with national IFA, Alexander Forbes, focusing on giving financial advice to small and medium size companies. In addition, Jeff worked for 12 years as National Sales Director for NPI, a retirement and investment focused insurer advising to the IFA community. He was responsible for raising £3m for Beringea's ProVen VCT earlier this year. Beringea will be shortly be launching a "C" share issue for ProVen Growth & Income VCT, seeking to raise up to £25m.
Trevor Hope and Jamie Kennell are both responsible for making new investments and managing existing investments, as well as playing an active role in raising new funds. Trevor Hope has been with Beringea since 2003. He was previously a Senior Investment Executive at 3i plc where he worked for 6 years investing and managing portfolio investments across a wide range of industries. He completed over 40 transactions including Paragon Software, Cambridge Industries, Southnews plc and Mondus.
Jamie Kennell joined Beringea in January 2005. He was previously an Investment Director at Unilever Ventures where he was responsible for investing and developing Unilever brands. Prior to this he spent five years at 3i plc as a Senior Investment Executive, during which time he made and managed a wide variety investments with a particular emphasis on mid market buy-outs.
